Pete:
Karl, William and Brian opened up for Animal Collective and Black Dice at a warehouse I was crashing at for a few months after we first landed in Oakland.. I thought they were the best band of the night and reached out to em. I've stayed enamored with any of the music these guys do and I think this is MAYBE their best release.. you can really hear Karl's voice and violin all over it, Williams' jagged percussion from a hybrid acoustic/electric kit that he still rocks in bulbs, Brian, the elusive one, on "treatments" and "instruments" either way, the scene here is blissful black hole indebted to Taj Mahal travelers and Basic Channel.. I mean just listen to Zygoma. What planet am I on?
